Hail My Lover
Hail, my lover, strong and keen,
You have taken me to where I'd never been.
Your hands were sure, your will was true,
I grieve to know it cannot be me and you.
Hail, my lover, you waved your wand,
And like magic I fell so strongly,
crossed into your great beyond.
I never knew a soul could feel so deep,
Until your presence, which my weary heart did keep.
Hail, my lover, strong and keen,
You have taken me places I had never been.
Deep within your grasp I wanted forever to stay
But, darling, you told me there
You would never me, myself keep.
My spirit grew, and I learned of truths I did not know.
Sometimes still, I let my memory descend,
And in your phantom arms, I pretend.
Hail, my lover, strong and keen,
You have taken me places I had never been.
Now I see you came from heaven to aid me through my mess.
You opened doors I didn't know existed,
Now I only pray you will be eternally blessed.
